Quality Management System
Vacu-Lug holds certificate no. FM 11388 issued by the British Standards Institution and operates a Quality Management System which complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2008 for the manufacture of retread tyres for commercial, industrial and earthmoving vehicles, as well as the repair and polyurethane filling of tyres for such vehicles.
European Standards Approval
Vacu-Lug holds approval no. 109R-000003 Ext 1, granted by The United Kingdom Vehicle Approval Authority (VCA) for a retreading production unit for commercial tyres for motor vehicles pursuant to Regulation No: 109.
Product Testing
Vacu-Lug tyres are randomly selected and tested for Load/Speed Endurance to Regulation No: 54 the same test as is used for new tyres.
Team Member Training
All Vacu-Lug team members are trained to the only internationally recognised qualification in the retreading sector of the tyre industry, the City & Guilds of London Institute Examination in Retread Process, Workshop Practice.
Inspections and Tests
In total, six individual inspections within the production process are performed by qualified team members on each tyre produced.
To assure quality, twice-yearly random load and speed endurance testing of our products are performed. These take the form of unannounced inspections by the VCA and must be passed.
In addition, twice-yearly audits are conducted on our Quality System by BSI.
